(The groups on this tape were chosen because of the unlielyhood of their appearing in the Eisteddfod and because of their naive belief in the existance of a mythical world beyond Shrewsbury.)
Yn wir, mae’r diwylliant Cymraeg yn cael eu llusgo yn sgrechian o’r bedd.
Truly, Welsh (language) culture is being dragged screaming from its grave.
As is common knowledge, the welsh are a race of hillbilly sheep-farmers, occasionally taking time off from their more pressing duties of chapel-going or cottage-burning to twang a harp or perhaps sing in a male voice choir.
However, holed up in remote caves around the country can be found those odd exceptions – strange eccentrics such as can be heard on this compilation.
All the groups on this tape are Welsh and half of them sing in their native language. It is these people who are the rightful heirs to Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey and Harry Seacombe.
